Job description
The Context / Purpose of the Job
Responsible for design and engineering of the equipment used in the steel plants.
Releasing manufacturing drawings for steel plant equipment to the shop.
Job Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop design and detail engineering in line with customer specifications, company procedures, regulations, standards, etc.
- Layout preparation of requisite equipment/structures and related components as per customer specification & its approval.
- Design calculation of Cranes, Transfer Cars, Ladles, etc. Structure & related technological Structure.
- Prepare technical specifications for bought-out items. Prepare technical evaluation report and vendor drawing approval.
- Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings in PTC Creo / Inventor.
- Knowledge of Design Automation using parametric models in Creo / Inventor.
- Analysis of equipment for static structural, thermal, and fatigue through Ansys.
- Preparation of PLM / SAP BOM and checking.
- Checking and releasing manufacturing drawings of equipment and its components.
- Collaborate and communicate with different departments like manufacturing, procurement, projects, inspection, quality, etc.
- Prepare and record documents as per ISO procedures.
- Incorporate customer feedback and learnings while developing the new equipment/structures and do the critical analysis.
- Ensure error-free drawing release incorporating all GD&T.
- Technical support/discussion with customers for new requirement resolution/development and clarifications.
- Site visits and solving capability of site issues related to equipment & technological structures.
Skills
Technical Competencies:
- Knowledge of equipment design, the strength of the material, and metallurgy.
- Basic knowledge of steel-making processes.
- Manufacturing processes like fabrication, welding, machining, heat treatment, etc.
- Knowledge of the selection of materials based on the application.
- Different codes and standards like IS, BS, DIN, ASME, etc.
- 3D modeling in Creo/ Inventor and 2D detailing.
- Knowledge of Autocad 2020
- Good understanding of product life cycle management (PLM windchill)
