Job Description: Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor of Couplings Engineering, this role involves delivering a wide range of Engineered-to-Order Mechanical Coupling design services to global engineering and various site technical offices. Responsibilities include implementing QMS, ensuring compliance with engineering processes, and performing design/drafting tasks using corporate CAD software.
Responsibilities:
- Review Drawing Office requests and establish design requirements.
- Prepare error-free general arrangement and manufacturing drawings in Solid Edge.
- Conduct quality self-checks for drawings and process Global Change Notifications.
- Maintain and submit monthly performance reports to the Sr. Supervisor.
- Perform other duties supporting John Crane’s business objectives.
- Use engineering tools and perform basic engineering calculations.
- Promote a “First Time Right” culture and contribute to continuous improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and prepare corrective actions using SCAT.
- Maintain records in line with IMS requirements and support global engineering initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
- Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience for BE and 2 years for Diploma holders, preferably in precision component and assembly design.
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solid Edge.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design, manufacturing techniques, fits and tolerances, and GD&T symbols.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret project requirements and documentation.
- Willingness to travel as required and support workplace safety and compliance.
