Position – Design Engineer

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Mechanical Design and development of High-pressure fluid transfer systems (hose assemblies) for hydraulic & pneumatic.
  • Perform trade-offs of different designs and components. Generate technical feasibility reports and technical drawings.
  • Analyze inquiries/RFQs and prepare feasibility reports, compliance matrices, and technical write-ups.
  • Help to improve design for cheaper & faster manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with other functions such as Production, Planning, Quality, Sales, etc. to manage the producibility of the components within budget and schedule.
  • Be responsible for creating production documentation in ERP (e.g., routers, BOM, etc.). Coordinate with the customer’s engineering team and resolve technical issues/queries.
  • Address production issues on the shop floor

The Individual

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Working experience and knowledge of Aerospace
  • Experience in using Engineering CAD tools, preferably CATIA
  • Experience in GD&T, Tools design, Material Specification, Design for manufacturability and manufacturing
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of design
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Dynamic, innovative, and must have a passion for aerospace
  • Knowledge of Fluid Transfer principles and Flexible Hoses/Tubing
  • Knowledge of various types of Hose end fittings and assembly processes.
  • Exposure to Aerospace standards like SAE AS, AMS, MIL, DO-160
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality
  • Exposure to French (Nice to have)
  • Experience in ERP system
  • Creation and /or modification of item cards/ part numbers, bill of material and manufacturing process router sheet.
