Job Title: Engineer – Product Engineering Railways
Reports To: Manager-Product Engineering Railways
Role Type: Individual Contribution
Location: Bangalore

Role Purpose:

To carry out all needed activities for the development of Mechatronic and condition monitoring system and its related components as a part of product engineering activities
Carry out all needed activities within the portfolio to achieve exceptional results through – personal effectiveness, partnering with others & building customer loyalty fulfilling their needs in an efficient & effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expertise in the Electromechanical domain (1 to 4 years)
  • Basic understanding of various components used in electronic devices.
  • Able to select catalog components like connectors, glands, enclosures, etc. as per design requirements.
  • Experience in mechanical integration of systems including routing of cables.
  • Experience in integration of PCB inside the mechanical envelope (preferable)
  • Experience in the design and development of electronic systems for Railway industry (preferable)
  • Expertise in Creo & Creo Cabling (1 to 4 years)
  • Ability to develop 3D models from digitized data.
  • Proficient in advanced Modeling, Assembly, and Detailing techniques.
  • Awareness to Design Automation, Map keys, UDFs, Pro-Programming, Pro-Toolkit.
  • Should be expertise in creating templates, Part & Assembly detailing.
  • Experience in creating Parametric BOM, symbols.
  • Experience in working with Relations.
  • Working with resolving failures (Eg. Reorder, redefine, reroute).
  • Proficiency in using Windchill or Any PLM (1 to 2 Years)
  • Experience in using Advanced search options.
  • Association between CAD documents and Product structure ( WT Part, EPM Doc, WT Doc).
  • Understanding of Lifecycle states and Workflow followed.
  • Should be aware of attribute descriptions in Windchill.
  • Proficiency in applying GD&T /Geometric Product Specification (GPS)
  • Good Knowledge of Engineering Drawings Dimensions & tolerancing.
  • Good understanding of the usage of data in GD&T /GPS.
  • Knowledge of the form, fit & functions of a product;
  • Knowledge of design standards (ASME, DIN, etc).
  • Good knowledge of Basic rules of tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Skill to do 2D tolerance stack-up analysis for parts.
  • Knowledge of Materials, Heat treatment & Finishing operation
  • Material properties (Yield strength, FOS, Ultimate strength, Ultimate strength etc).
  • Material behavior (static and dynamic conditions).
  • Basic knowledge of different heat treatment processes and its effects.
  • Knowledge of material testing methods.
  • Basic knowledge on coatings and its uses.
  • Knowledge in handling Engineering Change Management (ECM) process

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering stream.
  • Candidate should be Good with verbal and written communication and must have a casting background.
  • 1-4 Years of relevant functional work experience, preferably in the electromechanical domain.
  • Being an individual contributor, the position holder is the epitome of “Doing things correctly” & “Right from me”.
  • Highly motivated & self initiator with good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
