Project Manager R&D

Responsible for the planning and execution of assigned projects with full responsibility for time, function, quality, costs and budget.
Manages the project within the defined framework of time, budget and quality to customer satisfaction. Full profit & loss responsibility.

Academics:

Experience:

Professional experience of 15 + years in Low Voltage Switchgear Product design and development
Should possess experience of handling development projects for local market or global market
Should possess a better understanding of various Manufacturing Technologies, industrial raw material selection and usage
Preferably possess experience in Project manager role.

Project Management Role

Knowledge of Project Management, lean and change management practices
Strong collaborative skills and ability to facilitate decision making at function levels of the company
Good knowledge of customers – panel builders, electrical contractors, installation and usage of switchgear products
Project planning and controlling as well as project termination and handover
Functional lead of project members, lead the team through development stages
Manages the project within the defined framework of time, budget and quality as per customer need.

R&D Role:

Experience in Low Voltage Switchgear Product design and development preferably ACBs, MCCBs
Design and develop new products as per Business needs.
Upgrade existing product offer in terms of Features, Process.
Work out Cost Effective measures to reduce Product Cost.
Develop parts in coordination with Vendor Development Cell.
Co ordinate Type Testing/Certification of Products.
Provide support in establishing & streamlining Assembly Line
Conduct Product training for New / Exiting Product.
Handle Customer Complaints & provide timely solutions
Visit Customers sites & interact to understand the product needs & bring out necessary changes to make the product more acceptable

R&D/PM Role Expectations:

Coordinate with Business Product managers, customers (in specific cases) to work out Product specifications of new product as well as for existing products.
Freeze target MATERIAL COST based on product positioning strategy/Features along with Business Product Managers.
Workout development Plan till commercial launch & seek concurrence from Business Heads.
Identify resources required (Internal & external) at each stage of development.
Conduct Design Reviews at various stages of development & workout necessary action plan.
Evaluate design as per Verification plan, compliance with standard & take corrective actions.
Freeze Design output & asses the impact on material cost.
Workout Cost Reduction measures & implement it.
Workout Launch/Communication strategy with Marketing(Communication)

Computer Proficiency

Basic: 3D Modeling Software: NX, Pro-E, CAD Tools (Also ok if hands on with SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge)
Advanced: Finite element analysis – structural, motion simulation, electro-thermal, electro-magnetic etc.. (using NX, Pro-E Mechanica, FLUX, ANSYS & FLUENT etc.)
Data Management platform – Teamcenter, SAP, CADIM
Project controlling software (MS Project or any new software)
All MS applications incl. planner.
