We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer – Traction Power Supply Systems – Rail Electrification (m/f/d)

You’ll make a difference by:

• Preparation of mechanical design drawings for DC switchgear and cubicles (For Traction Power Supply Systems in the field of Railway Electrification) considering both, the customer specifications and Siemens’ regulations and international standards
• Methodic design of switchgear with the 3D tool” NX”, modeling of components
• Maintaining product data/documentation in Teamcenter
• Elaboration of conceptional solutions and finding answers to ambitious constructive requirements
• Technical support, analysis of technical problems, and answering of technical inquiries in collaboration
• with the manufacturing, the project engineering team, and the project management.
• Planning and controlling one’s own engineering work packages in view of date, cost, and quality aspects.
• Product support in view of standardization and documentation

Your qualification – Well-grounded and adequate

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering,
• Knowledge of switchgear construction and cubicle/cabinet (sheet metal) construction in rail industry
• CAD-tools NX or another solid 3D modeling program
• Knowledge of relevant European and International Standards
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering (schematic and wiring diagrams), electrical components
• Knowledge of engineering processes
• Experience in project realization, preferably in an international project environment
• Verbal and written fluency in English

Desirable

• Experience in the NX-Teamcenter program or equivalent
• Experience in switchgear construction and cubicle/cabinet construction in rail industry
• Experience in project realization, preferably in an international project environment
