Gas Turbine – Product Definition Engineer

Energy, Siemens Limited India is seeking a responsible, professional, and self-motivated individual to fill a position in Gas Turbine department In Gurgaon, India as “Gas Turbine – Product Definition engineer”.

Product definition engineer is responsible for product definition of gas turbine components using NX, Teamcenter and SAP. The engineer should be able to understand the functional, assembly and manufacturing requirements and come up with innovative & appropriate solutions to meet the design requirements.

Need to work within the team and with cross functional teams. Job requires creating 3D models & detailing and drawing checking. Very good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, creation of bill of materials are essential.

Job also requires regular interaction with global teams in USA, Germany, and Sweden. Hence, engineer should have strong communication skills and cross-cultural knowledge.

The selected candidate will report to whole engine module manager within Siemens Gas Turbine Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the product structure, design requirements and design principles
  • Design and detailing of Gas Turbine components.
  • Create new product designs and product assemblies
  • Documentation
  • Work with project lead to understand the requirements, provide engineering data, timelines and deliver related design activities within agreed timeline

Required Skills and Experience:

  • B E / B Tech in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in Turbomachinery Design engineering & Product definition
  • Experience in utilizing mechanical engineering skills to analyze technical requirements and applying appropriate skill set to design and detailing complex components and assemblies using NX (Unigraphics) or other similar solid modeling CAD software like Creo and Autocad
  • Mechanical-design fundamentals & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations
  • Apply GD&T per ASME Y-14.5M
  • Gas Turbine Component and System Design Experience or any turbomachinery design experience
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills to work with cross functional team and with different cultural background
  • Flexibility to work with different time zones.

Energy, Siemens Limited India is seeking a responsible, professional, and self-motivated individual to join the Gas Turbine R&D, Gurgaon as a ‘Mechanical integrity Engineer’. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, global product development environment.

Primary responsibility is to Carry out static/transient, Linear/Non-linear thermal and thermo mechanical FEA (Finite element analysis) of Gas Turbine static & Rotating components (e.g. blades & Vanes, combustion, Rotor, casing etc.) using commercial software such as ANSYS mechanical, ANSYS workbench, NX-CAE, Nastran & Abaqus.

Role & responsibility:

  • Carry out static/transient, Linear/Non-linear thermal and thermo mechanical FEA (Finite element analysis) of Gas Turbine static & Rotating components (e.g. blades & Vanes, combustion, Rotor, casing etc.) using commercial software such as ANSYS mechanical, ANSYS workbench, NX-CAE, Nastran & Abaqus.
  • Perform Low cycle fatigue, High Cycle fatigue and detailed Fracture mechanics assessment of Gas Turbine’s static & rotating components.
  • Perform high temperature creep calculation and assessment. Creep-fatigue interaction needs to be checked.
  • Prepare and document FE calculation in the form of structural integrity design report.
  • Participate and conduct structural integrity design review at component level.
  • Seamless transfer of structural integrity calculation input and output between design team and project lead respectively.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds

  • Mechanical Engineer graduate/Post graduate from recognized college/university
  • More than 6 years of experience in CAE/FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for linear, Non- linear, static, Transient, thermal and structural calculations.
  • Experience in FEA software ANSYS mechanical or ANSYS Workbench or NX-CAE, Nastran or Abaqus
  • Experience in Product Design in Turbo Machinery or Automotive.
  • Strong background in engineering Mechanics and mechanical design.
  • Experience in turbo machinery i.e. Gas turbine, Steam turbine will be preferred
  • Strong soft personal skill i.e. team player, quick learner, ability to adapt quickly & effectively etc.
