Job description

Role Overview:

  • Responsible for mechanical design, development, and analysis of locomotive and cast resin transformers within Siemens Distribution Transformer network.
  • Apply engineering principles and transformer design rules to ensure accurate design.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts for prototyping and product enhancements.
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis considering operational vibration.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D software to model designs and parts, creating engineering drawings and BOM.
  • Coordinate with European factories for product improvements.
  • Effective communication within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a design engineer or in related roles.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., CREO/PROe/Inventor/UG), PDM Link/Teamcenter, and 2D CAD (e.g., AUTOCAD).
  • Familiarity with product requirements in IEC 60310 / IEC 60076-11.
  • Knowledge of designing transformer tank, stiffeners, cover, and external components.
  • Thorough understanding of materials and preparation of specifications.
  • Selection of accessories in locomotive and cast resin transformers.
  • Experience with SAP.
