Performs structural analysis of generator components as per requirement for its structural integrity, vibration and propose design solution based on FEA simulations.

As a Structural FEA Engineer, in this role you will:

  • Responsible for the model analysis of generator systems, including prediction / simulation. Predict vibro-acoustics & structural dynamics using both analytical and simulation techniques.
  • Carry out experimental validation of components with FEA simulation.
  • Contributes to the development of structure simulation methodologies and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and other stakeholders at all stages of the project.
  • Participates in relevant Design / Verification reviews.
  • Provide and implements innovative solutions by utilizing his/her expertise in the field of responsibility.
  • Ensures adherence to defined guidelines, processes and procedures, for the team assigned.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in Mechanical / Structural / Aerospace engineering (~Total experience : 6-10 years)
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience (e.g. Turbo machinery or Heavy Machinery)
  • Prior experience in “Ansys” ( Classic & Workbench) is must. Candidate should have expertise in Ansys APDL.
  • Experience in structural design of mechanical components (large castings, welded structures and forged components).
  • Good understanding of HCF/LCF and fracture mechanics.
  • Experience In analytical calculations of bolted/welded joints
  • Experience in static Linear , Nonlinear, dynamic, Buckling, Fatigue Analysis etc.,
  • Exposure to International standards on safety and mechanical design.
  • Experience in failure and Root cause Analysis.
  • Preferred applicants will have:
  • Experience within the wind industry is preferred
  • Strong fundamentals of structural engineering, documentation and high technical understanding.
  • An outgoing person with good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Process oriented and structured, attention to details, handle complex projects.
  • Work with ease in cross cultural environment.
  • Flexible and thrive with changes
  • Exposure to certification requirements for WTG components or similar.
