Position – Associated Engineer, System Integration and Machinery Layout

Job description

- 3D model development for equipment and systems including piping, piping supports, valves, structures, instrumentation, hookups. (NX11 / PDMS)
- To prepare engineering specifications of Piping material/ valves for procurement
- Package design on AutoCAD (General arrangement/layout/cable layout etc.)
- Piping design, routing, piping GA & Isometric drawing preparation with MTO
- Development of PID in Comos / AutoCAD
- Development/piping Isometrics, structural design drawing, and MTO (Bill of Material)
- Interpretation of simulations studies and implementation of study results (Stress Analysis, Pulsation analysis, etc.)
- Basis calculations for pipe, sizing, pressure drops, and other ripping related sizes
- Liaise with client / Consultant – for technical matters, drawing approval, 3-D Model review
- Support fabrication and packaging at Siemens shop/site
- Exposure to ERP System i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc. will be an added advantage

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 3 years of experience
- Knowledge – B31.3 / B 31.3 piping design
- Must know AutoCAD and able to work independently to develop General arrangement Drawing / Piping Plan/piping isometric / Supports etc
- Expertise on 3 D modeling of packages on Inventor / PDMS / PDS is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of consultant’s piping specifications with Valves, industrial piping design & fabrication
- Knowledge & exposure of international standards / code like: ASME / ASTM / API / AWS, relevant to Piping.
- Preparation of – piping components specification for procurement, piping drawings, and MTO
- Experience/ Exposure to work with & interpretation of technical specifications of – renowned consultants like: EIL / TEIL / UHDE / LTC / Technip / Shell DEP / ARAMCO / PDO etc
- Basic knowledge of – Rotating equipment compressor/ Pumps & other Mechanical items, engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings
- Reading and Preparation of Package Engineering drawings like P&I Diagram, General Arrangement, Foundation Plan, piping plan, and piping isometric drawings.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of a production planning and schedule-based environment

- Member of Acoustic Package Coordination team. Responsible for arranging regular meetings within all internal interface partners, Customer Order engineering, and Suppliers. Participating in reviews and gates.
- Responsible for design and preparation of specifications for Air Intake system, Silencer, Enclosure, Anti Icing system, Exhaust system, ventilation
- Responsible for Design and preparation of RFQ documents of Fire extinguishing system CO2 & H2O and Gas detection system. Understanding of Fire Fighting & Suppression system (detection, extinguishing)
- Involved in most of the Fault reports in the technical area assigned. Decide the system strategy. Take an active part in creating and sustaining the road map for the system.
- Be active in benchmarking knowledge internal/external Siemens. Shall aim to be the one with the best knowledge for the systems function and detailed design.
- Checking the vendor bids and providing Clarification, technical vendor negotiations. Vendor evaluation including risk assessment and support the commercial selection. Checking of vendor design and documentation. Supporting the detailed design by vendors. Support purchasing to find the best total cost solutions.
- Giving & Working on Cost savings ideas.
- Document and drive implementation in PLM2020, SAP. Release and maintain reference documentation in COMOS, PLM2020, Team Centre, or related databases
- Provide field/site support if required, Support during warranty/Service Support after the warranty

- 3 to 10 years of relevant engineering work experience

- Knowledge of mechanical design of enclosures and its fabrication including time schedule.

- Review, Control, and Own 3D Piping Models.
- Perform Pipe Stress Analysis and Pipe Support Calculations as required.
- Write Technical specifications as required.
- Review vendor drawings as required.
- Complete interface with various disciplines at all levels.
- Provide engineering assistance to Plant Construction and start-up.
- Resolve all Field Interference Issues.
- Co-ordinate with Piping Fabricators and Piping Insulation Vendors.
- Participate in vendor surveillance programs and assist QA.
- Write/Create Piping Material Classifications.

- 7 to 12 years of Piping & Supports engineering work experience
- Knowledge of major components of power plants
- Competent handling of 3d Software (Preferably Open Plant)
- Experience in Piping Stress analysis tools (Preferably Auto Pipe)
- Knowledge of Pressure Drop & Pipe Thickness Calculations
- Experience with ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5, AISC Latest Edition, and AWS.
- Experience in performing hand calculations for pipe supports. These calculations include but not limited to the qualification of structural members, weld sizing, base plate qualification, anchor bolt evaluation, spring hangers, etc. Experience in using STAAD III.
- Experience with Pipe fabrication requirements and material selections and write fabrication specs if needed.
- Experience in selecting pipe insulation materials.
- Familiarity with Heat Tracing is desirable
