Position Description:
The Engineer-quality is responsible for overseeing the quality control activities on the production line, ensuring a reduction in rejections and rework, and maintaining high standards in process quality. The role involves working closely with other teams to monitor quality, train inspectors, and manage continuous improvement activities like TPM and CAPA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- In-Process Quality Monitoring:
- Responsible for monitoring the quality on the production line and ensuring minimal rejections during the process.
- Quality Control Leadership:
- Take charge of quality control activities, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures.
- Rejection & Rework Reduction:
- Work on reducing line rejections and monitor re-work processes to optimize efficiency.
- Final Inspectors Training:
- Train final inspectors to ensure consistency in quality checks and processes.
- CAPA Preparation:
- Prepare Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for quality issues identified on the line.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Engage in TPM circle activities and ensure continuous improvement in quality processes.
- Documentation & Records:
- Ensure timely updating of documents and records relevant to quality control.
- Inspection Monitoring:
- Monitor the first, middle, and last inspections to maintain consistent quality throughout the production run.
- 5S & 3C Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization through 5S & 3C practices in the respective areas.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor and address PDI complaints and customer complaints.
- Support and report on team activities related to quality.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Automobile Technology.
Key Performance Indicators:
- In-house Scrap Cost Reduction
- Internal Rework PPM
- External PPM
- Process Failure (PF), Control Plan (CP), and FMEA Job Setup Approval
- Quality System Compliance
- Number of Accidents (Minor/First Aid)
- TPM Activities (Including 5S & Kaizen)
Required Competencies:
- Welding & Sheet Metal Process Knowledge
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Proficiency in 7 QC Tools
