Production (Assembly) Engineer – Pune

The role

The Production Assembly Engineer is responsible for developing and Improving Assembly Process by studying product and assembly process & ensuring the on time delivery adequate Quality with maximum utilization of resources. This role will be based at our Pune Assembly Center facility.

Areas of responsibility

  1. Partner with the Assembly line leadership team to drive process improvements.
  2. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
  3. Identify new processes and technology to improve assembly cycle time, reduce quality defects and improve ergonomics
  4. Develop technical skills of technicians.
  5. Troubleshoot assembly problems to achieve on-time delivery and quality.
  6. Creates and evaluates tool, jig, and process capabilities
  7. Evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  8. Self-participation and motivation to the team to give suggestions, kaizen, and poka-yoke, to improve the Assembly process and Quality, and improve productivity.
  9. Record and Maintain the ISO documentation.
  10. Coordinate with the CFT for smooth working and to achieve the targets
  11. Daily online reporting of production and another record in the existing system as defined.
  12. Maintaining shop floor as per 5s standard, updating of the daily work management board, material pull board, etc

Your profile

You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering, be comfortable working in a team, sharing knowledge, and working with best practices. You will have at least 2-4 years of experience in a Production assembly line preferably in the Heavy Equipment Industry and have a good understanding of the Assembly Process and time study.

You will be passionate about projects and driving results, be innovative in thinking and be able to perform well under pressure, and possess strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, time management, and planning skills. You will be well-organized, self-motivated, and able to manage your workload independently. You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Project). You should have good knowledge of 5S, kaizen, poka-yoke, lean tools, 7 QC tools, etc.
