Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology is a leading supplier in equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. Application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, crushing and screening, loading and hauling, tunneling, quarrying and breaking and demolition. 

SMRT Rock Tools PU Pune plant is looking for

                             Operations Manager

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

Scope:

This integral role is to achieve agreed objectives within the areas of EHS, production, quality and procurement. The role is mainly to run the operations at Production Unit (Pune) along with the concerned Materials, Sourcing and Distribution Departments.

Main responsibilities to handle in this position:                            

  • Accountable for EHS initiatives and execution at Production unit.
  • Responsible for all local manufacturing activities at Production unit.
  • Fulfil quality standards, achieve productivity targets & cost objectives contributing to performance of PU Pune to meet the Group requirements.
  • Initiate & implement measures to improve quality & productivity.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Global manufacturing units in manufacturing activities for group supply product assortments.
  • Monitoring and controlling of Plant Inventory as per target set.
  • Price negotiation with suppliers for raw material, consumables & labour charges through Sourcing department.
  • Budgeting & monitoring investments, production inputs, manpower & other resources towards performance of PU Pune.
  • Ensure proper maintenance / calibration of plant machinery, equipment & toolingto maintain group standard quality level in PU.
  • Participate in wage negotiation at SAPL Pune for unionized workforce.
  • Should be strong in people developer.
  • Accountable for driving D&I initiatives at Production Unit.
  • Comply all statutory local requirement of Pune Unit

Your profile:

  • Candidate heading production activities at least 7 years’ in middle management level position experience preferably from MNC Engineering organization.
  • He should be a Graduate Engineer from Mechanical / Production Engineering
  • Worked with a strong EHS cultured organization
  • Well versed in speaking Marathi language is must

Required Competencies:

  • Candidate should have excellent knowledge on production techniques.
  • He should have high level commitments to safety parameters.
  • Should be flexible in working as per the management’s needs.
  • He should be able to work like a role model for his colleagues.
  • Good knowledge on finance.
  • Should be “Change agent”.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Tools
  • He should be a highly self-motivated and very good decision making
