Job Scope:
As an Engineer in Production Engineering, you will analyze and improve existing processes to ensure sustainable and repeatable production that enhances safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. You will provide technical support to ensure smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC machining programs using NX CAM.
- Simulate and verify machining processes using Vericut to ensure toolpath accuracy and collision-free operations.
- Manage the TDM (Tool Data Management) system for selecting the correct cutting tools and assemblies.
- Utilize CAPP (Computer-Aided Process Planning) to enhance manufacturing workflows.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve machining strategies, reduce cycle times, and resolve machining issues.
- Support continuous improvement of CAM processes and provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to CAM programming and system integration.
- Collaborate with global engineering units to provide support and share technical expertise.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for Product Development Projects and provide remote support for global operations.
Desired Profile:
Experience:
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in metal cutting and CAM programming.
Software Skills:
- Proficient in NX CAM for CNC programming.
- Experience with Vericut for CNC simulation and verification.
- Familiarity with TDM for tool data management.
- C and Java programming knowledge is an added advantage.
Other Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in machining issues.
- Good communication skills in English and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
Global Engineering Support:
- Collaborate with global production units (PUs) to ensure consistency and alignment in CAM processes across manufacturing sites.
- Support global machining operations and provide remote troubleshooting.
