Position Summary: Design Engineer
This role involves assisting in the design of new components/products and improving existing ones, utilizing SolidWorks and other CAD tools. The position focuses on optimizing designs with a solid understanding of design and analysis methods while supporting cross-functional teams and customers.
Major Responsibilities:
2D/3D Drawing Creation: Assist in creating/modifying 2D/3D drawings and models in SolidWorks.Engineering Change Requests/Notifications (ECRs/ECNs): Complete accurate drawing packages within the assigned time frame, including changes requested through ECRs/ECNs.Design Support: Help improve components and products with basic knowledge of design tools and methods.Analysis & Optimization: Perform basic analysis and optimize components with a foundational understanding of methods like GD&T and drafting standards.Problem Solving: Assist in solving basic design issues with a demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving.Documentation & Support: Create design documents, installation instructions, and customer data sheets, and provide CAD files to customers. Develop outline drawings for customer approval.PIM (Product Information Management): Review product catalogs and provide details to the IT team as required.Order Execution: Use software tools like DDM and Oracle for order execution tasks.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution.Experience: Up to 2 years of experience designing industrial products such as Bearings, Couplings, Gearboxes, Pumps, or Material Handling Equipment.CAD Proficiency: Skilled in 3D modeling and 2D drafting using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD/Draftsight.Technical Skills: Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and drafting standards.Additional Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic SAP knowledge would be advantageous.
