Position – Design Engineer I

Job description

Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting senior designers for Order/Offers/ECNs or for conveying product-related projects. Conveying products such as Modular Metal or Plastic Chains/Belts, Magnetic/ Non-Magnetic Curves, Sprockets, Guides and other related products in Sheet Metal or Plastic. These products are being used by OEMs to build the conveyors.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist senior designers with inquiries and orders working with global teams
• Develop/modify drawings by taking inputs such as customer information, and existing references of the current products.
• Create concepts, layouts, assemblies, and part drawings in SolidWorks/Creo depending upon request.
• Coordinate and create a library of Customer specific drawings, and templates.
• Work on ECRs/ECNs creates drawing packages that are complete and accurate within the assigned time.
• Prepare Assemblies, and part drawings in SolidWorks/Creo
• Perform self-quality checks on the drawings/designs generated as per standard guidelines set up by Engineering Team at Conveying
• Aid inside and outside customers as per set process.
• Monitor performance with regard to quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.
• Provide order/offer/project updates Senior Designer regularly, and document all aspects of every project as required.
• Support in creating design documents, installation instructions, customer data sheets etc.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, co-workers, and company personnel.
• Assume additional roles and responsibilities as required, capable of handling multiple projects.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed college.
• Experience: Up to 3 years of experience in designing plastic and sheet metal products.
• Good understanding of Sheet Metal and Injection Molding manufacturing processes.
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in CAD work (Creo, SolidEdge, AutoCAD, SolidWorks Preferred).
• Knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and international material standards is a must.

• Prior project management experience is a plus.
• Customer-focused with a good technical background and commercial aptitude and interest.
• Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision and with a sense of urgency.
• Competent in Microsoft computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
