Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Technical Understanding:
- Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to understand technical specifications and requirements for procurement activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to gather information on technical aspects of products and services.
- Vendor Identification and Evaluation:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers for mechanical components, equipment, and services.
- Participate in supplier assessments to ensure they meet quality and technical standards.
- Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Proposals (RFPs):
- Support the preparation and issuance of RFQs and RFPs for mechanical goods and services.
- Assist in the analysis of vendor proposals, considering technical specifications and compliance.
- Cost Analysis and Negotiation:
- Work on cost analysis for mechanical components and services.
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Documentation and Contract Management:
- Maintain accurate records of technical specifications, quotes, and procurement documentation.
- Assist in the creation and management of contracts for mechanical goods and services.
- Collaboration with Engineering Teams:
- Liaise with internal engineering teams to ensure alignment between procurement requirements and technical specifications.
- Communicate effectively with engineers to address any technical issues during the procurement process.
- Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure purchased mechanical components meet specified standards.
- Participate in the resolution of quality issues with suppliers.
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting the procurement of mechanical products.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical components and systems.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess technical specifications and requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
