Job Description:

The compression systems engineering (CSE) digital team is looking for a methods engineer to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India.

The methods team is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing tools & software which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine design and revolutionize all stages of a jet engines life cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization.
  • Support the full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development process.
  • Develop new user-centric pages, components, and apps.
  • Support infrastructure and databases in the AWS cloud environment.
  • Exhibit the ownership in terms of milestones, schedules & quality of deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (with 4+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 3+ year experience) in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design & software development.
  • 2+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with structural design tools (Ansys, FE Morph, Siemens NX)
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Familiarity with SCRUM and Agile project management methodologies
  • Hands on experience with Cloud Computing, preferably Amazon Web Services
  • Certified in Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies.
  • Experience with GitHub, JIRA or other code management and product management software
  • Good communication skills and working as a team player.
