Phillips Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd.’s Automation Expert is a mid-level position that meets an essential need for our customers and demonstrates a core competency in Automation of our company. This position will provide extensive opportunities for applicants to grow and develop new skills and gain experience that will advance their careers into positions of increasing responsibility and leadership. We expect the applicant to at least 5-6 years’ Experience in Robot Programming, knowledge in layout Design and in selecting the right accessories for Robot Integration. The position is of high visibility, with daily customer contact, usually at their site. The position includes traveling across the country.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics/ Industrial or Production Engineering
• Certification in one or more Robot Manufacturer’s approved programs/training.

Experience

• Hands-on experience in successfully implementing Industrial & Collaborative Robots projects, with CNC machining industry for Machine tending application is an added advantage.

Location – Pune/Bangalore

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of automated manufacturing system mechanics and controls
• Hands-on robot operation/programming/ trouble shooting/ maintenance experience
• Hands-on experience with Robot Cell Simulation & On-line / offline Programming.
• Familiar with Simulation software i.e. Dalmia, RoboCAD,RoboDK & Design Software such as AutoCAD, Creo, Solid Works.
• Familiarity with basics of Industrial Robot standards and specifications, ANSI-RIA, IEC, etc.
• Sound knowledge Familiarity in selecting right set of accessories ie to integrate Robots with CNC machines.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

• Providing best technical support in Automation for Machine tending application to Sales team to convert all enquiries into executable orders
• Ensuring that, Phillips Machine Tool India Pvt. Ltd has the best Automation team by –

• Providing the productive & cost-effective solutions in Machine tending application to all our customers.
• Introducing of new constructive partners to the team.
• Effective communication with internal & external customers.
• Willing to travel to customer sites for installation, technical support & tooling build sites, and integration shops.
• Willing to work flexible hours, based on customer needs and availability of equipment/facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Simulation and Off-line programming of robots for developing automation systems (-60%)
• Evaluate multiple scenarios in simulation for optimizing system performance.
• Assist with developing and evaluating alternate system layouts, fixture tooling designs, robot configurations, and robot end-of-arm tooling designs
• Conduct robot reach studies, cycle time analysis, and process flow.
• On-site robot programming & teaching, installation & commissioning, troubleshooting & debug (-40%)
• Adhere to and advocate for all Safety Protocols, Safe Operating Procedures, and proper use of Personal Safety Equipment, without exception. (Safety Role Model)
• Provide technical support for robot installation work done by contractors or customer skilled trades at build, integration, and end-user customer sites
• Start-up, test, and calibrate all robots on site according to manufacturer’s procedures
• Download, install, and debug all robot programs. Touch-up points and paths to achieve design intent, cycle time targets, and eliminate any safety issues
• Modify existing robot programs or provide new ad-hoc programming on-site to complete system design intent, or to improve robot reliability, maintainability, or performance.
• Assist with the startup and launch of customer’s production system. Quickly resolve any issues associated with robot automation that impedes customer’s schedule or part quality attainment goals
• Assist with training the customer’s people in the proper operation, maintenance of all robots in the system and programming of all robots.
• Provide documentation that accurately shows actual as-built, installed, and approved robot configuration, programming, and systems interfaces (human, network, controls).
• Participate in and provide technical support to customer’s robot safety system testing, validation, approval (production release), and Risk Assessments.
