Your Job
Responsible for the design and development of DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) products. Develops designs and manages product modifications that meet performance requirements as per Industry standards and customer specifications. Generates 3D CAD models, engineering documentation, bill of materials, assembly and components drawings
Our Team
Datacom & Specialty Solutions (DSS CSBU IDS) The position will be part of the engineering team at Molex India Business Services. This team provides design and engineering related services to DSS Business Unit stakeholders from across the globe
What You Will Do
- Design and development of new product, modification and configurations of existing products as per customer requirement
- Executes product design and modifications from development of the concept to production release, managing risk with DFMEA techniques, following Molex product development process
- Works with manufacturing engineering to support DFM and manufacturing processes setup, supports quality function in determining quality requirements for product, supports sourcing team in firming up supply chain solutions
- Provides technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal project teams
- Understands and applies Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) to engineering drawings
- Good understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and analysis lead design approach
- Strong English communication skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate with global stakeholders and express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Understand, support and contribute to Molex culture of Principle Based Management
- Perform other related activities as assigned by Supervisor
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
PREFERRED:
Master’s/Additional qualification in Design/Manufacturing engineering
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
2 to 3 years in R&D/Design Engineering function engaged in design, modification and sustenance of products
PREFERRED:
Work experience in electromechanical-related industry
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in the design and development of electromechanical products Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as molding, sheet metal tooling, fabrication of components, and assembly processes
- Proficient in using solid modeling software (Siemens NX) to generate 3D models & 2D drafting
- Ability to conceptualize and generate ideas in product design
- Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results, and make a conclusion
- Problem-solving ability to understand the root cause and come up with solution alternates
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team
