Your Job:

Molex is seeking a CAD Engineer skilled in CAD tools (preferably UG-NX) to join our engineering team. The role involves 2D detailing, 3D modifications, 3D creation, BOM, and assembly setup sheet creation for automation tooling for DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design modifications, 2D/3D modeling, engineering BOM, assembly setup, and release of automation tooling and fixture systems per customer requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and automation tool designers to execute projects using the latest 3D CAD modeling techniques, PLM software (Teamcenter/ECTR), and DFM tools.
• Support DFM processes, quality assurance, and supply chain solutions in collaboration with sourcing and quality teams.
• Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal project teams.
• Work globally with teams to bring products into production.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to engineering drawings.
• Maintain clear and concise English communication (verbal and written) for technical concepts.
• Contribute to Molex’s Principle-Based Management culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 1-2 years in automation tooling/fixture systems design.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in using Siemens NX for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Strong knowledge of designing conveyor pallets, fixtures, clamping devices, and aligners.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes (molding, sheet metal tooling, fabrication, assembly).
  • Knowledge of DFM tools and GD&T application.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong team player with effective collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or additional certification in Design/Manufacturing Engineering.
• 1-2 years of experience in design engineering for automation tooling and fixture systems.
