Position – Engineer, Product Design

Job description


Review and understand the customer requirements & specification in New product development process
Participate as a active member in developing new product through the product life cycle


  • Review customer specifications
    • Prepare solid models, drawings and specifications.
    • Update and release drawings and specifications to ECTR
    • Review engineering change requests and initiate ECN / ECR process
    • Work on BOM Breakdown and load BOM information in ZGQS to support Quote Process.
    • Propose alternates from Molex and work with Customer to get them approved
    • Review VOC and prepare TAR
    • Initiate Sample request followed by Customer Approval.
    • Recommend alternates to ensure reduce sample development LT
    • Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturability.
    • Ensure compliance with all Molex policies & procedures in all related areas
    • Any other projects/work assigned by management
    • Approve deviations product specification
    • Approve First piece sample for sample room parts
    • Approve Component FAR’s & Tooling FAR’s
    • Approve child component specification during costing
    • Engineering Graduate – Mechanical/ Electrical and Electronics
      Experience:2 -5 years Post Qualification experience with min 1 year in PDE / NPI
  • Skill Sets & Competencies :
    • Knowledge of Product design and development processes
    • Knowledge of ECN/ECR management system
    • Hands on experience in PFMEA & DFMEA (preferred)
    • Hands on experience in any design software (UG – NX preferred)
    • Good technical communication skills
    • Knowledge on wiring harness manufacturing process / mold DFM will be an advantage
