Purpose of the job
Responsible for designing products using computer-aided design software applications such as AutoCAD, Creo, and SolidWorks. Designs products, creates and tests prototypes, and oversees other drafters. Provide guidance to junior engineers on CAD projects.
Minimum Requirements (Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent with 7+ CGGPA
- Knowledge of Creo
- Emphasis on either Solid/Surface or Programmatic modeling
- Creates Engineering Specification CAD Models and Drawings per HMI and Industry standards. Assists in developing next-generation Engineering Specification standards and guidelines
- Expert capability to function in Creo Parametric. Includes all nonseating component parts, assembly and product models, instances, and drawings.
- Advanced ability to function in Creo Parametric Surfacing to support seating. Includes the ability to create and modify Class A surfaces.
- Assists in developing and sharing next-generation Creo Parametric techniques and processes.
- Advanced capability in HMI ProProgram to manipulate sub or product assemblies
- Advanced capability to modify ProProgram components and associated databases for worksurface or tile maintenance or part creation.
- Advanced capability to build productivity apps within Smart Assembly in support of efficiency in creating and modifying Engineering Specifications
- Working capability to build Product apps within Smart Assembly in support of complete product (example cabinet) engineering specifications
- Provide complete support and pioneer additional functionality with HMI Windchill tools. Provide complete support of Source Tree pdm activities for maintaining Smart Assembly Code
Essential Functions:
- Assist Engineers in part/assembly design on assigned Projects
- Mentors new talent by teaching CAD & PDM knowledge and skills
- Created complex assemblies utilizing advanced techniques to layout multiple variations of component and product layout interfaces to support assigned projects
- Understands basic Manufacturing, Engineering and Industrial Design acumens in creating and revising engineering specifications
- Advanced management of all Master Model and Top Down Design aspects of assigned Projects
- Coordinates all CAD related Deliverables on major scope D&D Initiatives
- Problem solve and pioneer-level CAD and Engineering tools and processes
- Communicates frequently and effectively with all internal and external business partners using verbal and written tools and technology tools. 100% Positive feedback from customers
- Works effectively and seamlessly with all external engineering partners. Contributes to new processes and techniques
Person profile
Experience & Competencies
- 3+ years of professional-level experience in new product development or continuous improvement of current products.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Pro-E modeling or other equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Ability to effectively produce clear accurate and detailed engineering drawings.
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Ability to take initiative and assume accountability.
- Ability to work with teams and achieve quality results on time.
