Job Description

Reporting Structure:

  • Functional Reporting: Deputy General Manager (DGM) / General Manager (GM)
  • Administrative Reporting: Senior General Manager (Department Head)

Educational Qualifications:

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) – preferably Mechanical.
  • Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering (ME/MTech) – preferably in Mechanical Design or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum: 3 years
  • Maximum: 6 years
  • Age Limit: Up to 29 years

Job Role:

Vehicle Crash CAE Simulation & Evaluation


Responsibilities:

  1. CAE Model Preparation:
    • Develop full vehicle CAE models using tools like HYPERMESH, ANSA, and PRIMER for mesh discretization, assembly, constraints, and load settings.
    • Focus on automotive subsystems and components.
  2. Simulation:
    • Conduct system and full vehicle crash simulations using LS-Dyna software.
    • Work on vehicle body and aggregate development for crash and occupant safety using CAE.
  3. Optimization and Robustness:
    • Perform model optimization and robustness evaluations using tools like DiffCrash, Mode Frontier, and LS-OPT.
  4. Result Interpretation:
    • Analyze simulation outcomes using LS-PrePost, Hyperview, and Hypergraph.
    • Identify failure modes and suggest countermeasures by conducting parameter studies on the FEM model.
  5. Reporting:
    • Prepare and communicate detailed reports with stakeholders such as design and testing teams to implement countermeasures.
  6. Testing Interaction:
    • Collaborate with testing teams to analyze failures.
    • Correlate CAE results with physical testing results to improve CAE methodologies.

Competency Requirements:

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, Theory of Elasticity/Plasticity.
  • Good understanding of automotive body, sheet metal, and plastic part design.
  • Knowledge of AIS Safety Regulations and NCAP protocols.
  • Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis and experience working in the automotive crash and occupant safety CAE domain.
  • Ability to debug CAE models in LS-Dyna and post-process the results effectively.
  • Experience working with CAE engineers to make design modifications based on CAE feedback.
  • Strong skills in interpreting FEA results, post-processing, and preparing comprehensive reports with countermeasure proposals.
  • Exposure to physical testing is preferred, as well as the ability to translate test conditions into CAE simulations.
