Job description
- Job Title – Deputy Manager/Manager-Engine Design(L7O/L7M)
- Business Unit/Division – M&M, Two-Wheeler Division
- Location – Pune
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Strong expertise in engine aggregates
- Hands-on experience on :
- Crank train design & calculations ( P-Theta calculations )
- Valvetrain design & calculations
- Powerpack understanding, simulation & analysis
- Know-how related to engine durability testing i.e. Pmax / Tmax / Fleet durability
- Optimization of valve timing & cam profile
- Bearing analysis & selection ( Basics )
- Hands-on experience in balancer system design & calculations
- Know-how about silent chain drive, design & analysis
- Knowledge of intake / exhaust system design & optimisation for best performance / emission
- Understanding about CAE/FEA simulation of engine components
- Knowledge of DFMEA on engine & engine parts
- Strong knowledge of engine parts related manufacturing processes & heat treatments
- Knowledge of emission norms ( Domestic / Global )
Qualification
- B. Tech/M.Tech – Mechanical/Automobile
- Experience (years) – 6-10 yrs
Industry Preferred
- Automotive R & D , preferably 2/3Wh

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Basic gearbox calculations
- Layout review ( 2D & 3D)
- Romax analysis and simulation
- Shifting mechanism calculation/optimization
- Clutch calculations & basic understanding about wet multi-plate clutch
- Know-how of clutch release mechanism & various leverages involve
- Bearing calculation & analysis
- Splines & gear calculation know-how
- Gear optimization for pitting/bending strength
- Gear optimization for noise ( Profile optimization)
- Able to understand interface aggregates to deal with transmission systems
- Hands-on experience in Unigraphics /Catia / Auto CAD
- Understanding of gear manufacturing process & Heat treatment processes
- Understanding about FEA of transmission components
- Knowledge of PLM ( Teamcenter ) system & dwg release process
- Knowledge of DFMEA on transmission parts
- Knowledge of gearbox duty cycle & same to be used in testing
Qualification
