Job description

  • Job title – Assistant/Deputy Manager-Suspension Design (L8O/L7O)
  • Business Unit/Division – M&M, Two-Wheeler Division
  • Location – Pune

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  1. Design development of suspension and wheels system & its sub-components
  2. Design /Development of 2-wheeler suspension and wheels
  3. Design calculation of coil spring/Suspension parameters like roll stiffness frequency, Pitch bounce characteristics, etc.
  4. Packaging & layout optimization, & detailing experience required.
  5. Design & development of steering system & sub-components.
  6. Knowledge of Steering geometry optimization, Steering efforts calculation, Packaging & lay out creation.
  7. DFMEA, DVP & knowledge of GD&T.
  8. Prepare 3D model & 2D drawings of suspension and wheel assemblies/sub-assemblies & components.
  9. Responsibilities include achieving the overall system performance, cost and quality
  10. Conduct design calculations to arrive at the agreed specifications of domain assembly & components to meet performance & durability targets.
  11. Coordinate with validation team and signing-off all the key ride & comfort performance parameters and attribute requirements
  12. Work for refining functional characteristics of the suspension components, system, features and the vehicle
  13. Tolerance stack up analysis for assemblies & fitment on chassis.
  14. 2D drawing preparation with GD&T principles & internal design standards.
  15. Maintain drawing revisions with design change history.
  16. Uploading 3D & 2D in PLM & ensure latest revisions.
  17. Approve supplier drawings ensuring GD&T, system standards & performance targets.
  18. Conduct benchmarking for competitor parts & review designs.
  19. Conduct system & component level DFMEA & review in real time.
  20. Coordinating with internal stakeholders and external agents like suppliers etc. to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Experience (years) – 2 to 6 years
  • Industry Preferred – 2wheelere/4wheeler industry preferred
