Role Overview
The Design Engineer will be responsible for 3D/2D design of transmission components using CATIA V5/NX, ensuring error-free designs, GD&T compliance, and on-time project delivery. The role requires a strong analytical background, expertise in transmission design, and knowledge of PLM systems like Teamcenter/SAP.
Key Responsibilities
✅ 3D/2D CAD Design:
- Develop 3D models & 2D drawings of transmission components (Gears, Shafts, Housings, Shift Systems, Bearings, etc.)
- Utilize CATIA V5/NX for parametric modeling in Thermal/HVAC/Cooling systems
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM) in CAD
✅ Analytical & Technical Skills:
- Perform gear/shaft design calculations
- Apply GD&T and part tolerancing (ASME standards)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes: castings, forgings, gear cutting, multi-axis CNC machining, heat treatment
✅ Software & Tools Proficiency:
- CATIA V5/NX for CAD modeling
- AMESIM for simulation
- PLM systems (Teamcenter/SAP)
✅ Project Execution & Collaboration:
- Prepare technical presentations and progress reports
- Ensure on-time delivery of tasks
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
Qualifications & Skills
🎓 Education:
- B.E. in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
💼 Experience:
- 2022/2023 Pass-out (Freshers welcome)
🔹 Technical Skills:
✔ Proficiency in CATIA V5/NX (3D/2D modeling)
✔ Strong knowledge of Automotive/Off-Highway/Commercial Vehicle Transmissions
✔ Understanding of GD&T and part tolerancing
✔ Experience with PLM systems like Teamcenter/SAP
✔ Knowledge of AMESIM simulation modules

✔ Attention to detail & time management
