Job Overview

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and operation of equipment onboard ships. The role requires expertise in mechanical systems, including pumps, engines, generators, valves, and hydraulic systems. The candidate must have a strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and data sheets for mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning:

Oversee installation & commissioning of equipment onboard ships
Operate and maintain DGs, pumps, hydraulic systems, generators, and valves
Ensure compliance with engineering specifications

Engineering & Technical Expertise:

Interpret drawings, technical documents, and data sheets
Conduct inspections & surveys post-installation
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and optimize system performance

Supervision & Coordination:

Supervise subcontractors to ensure work completion as per standards
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution
Handle customer interactions and resolve concerns effectively

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

ITI Trade Certificate OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)

Experience:

2 – 3 years in mechanical engineering, preferably in the shipbuilding industry

Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of pumps, engines, generators, valves, and hydraulic systems
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings & specifications
Experience in shipboard equipment installation & commissioning
Ability to conduct inspections and surveys

Behavioral Skills:
Strong supervision and execution skills
Good customer handling & communication skills
Ability to coordinate with subcontractors & teams
