Job description

The position involves ensuring the efficient management and operation of a paint shop with a focus on surface treatment, paint quality, and aesthetic appearance. The role requires overseeing painting operations, inspection processes, material procurement, and shop management while adhering to customer specifications and ISO standards. The individual will also be responsible for improving and modernizing the painting processes and ensuring high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Surface Treatment & Specifications: Understanding customer specifications for surface treatment and preparing the necessary procedures.
• Inspection: Conducting stage inspections of surface preparation and coating activities as per the inspection plan.
• Paint Quality: Ensuring the quality and aesthetics of painted components.
• Paint Shop Management: Efficiently managing the paint shop, including material procurement, manpower allocation, and overseeing production programs.
• Modernization: Advising on technical aspects and working to modernize the paint shop processes.
• Target Achievement: Managing work targets, including ensuring proper paint mixing and eliminating bottlenecks in the system.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining proper housekeeping practices within the paint shop.
• System Improvement: Conducting periodic reviews to develop a punctual, technically advanced, and efficient system to deliver quality output.
• Training: Preparing training modules and auxiliary services for the team.
• Communication & Presentation: Exhibiting good communication and presentation skills.
• ISO 9001 Compliance: Awareness and adherence to ISO 9001 standards.

Skills & Requirements

• Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience in surface treatment and painting operations.
• NACE Certification: NACE Level 1 or 2 certified.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of the surface preparation process, customer specifications, and paint shop operations.
• Communication: Good communication and presentation skills.
• ISO 9001: Awareness of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Qualification

• Education: Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
