Job Summary
NC programmer will do programs for manufacturing of products in multiple axis machining centers. Works under the supervision of Senior / Lead Programmer. Work on programs like turning, Milling & mill turn programs using GKAM templates. Take responsibility of checking his own programs against checklist and provide regular feedback to supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation of program using GKAM for square shank products.
- Create program using GKAM for all front-end cutting units and adaptors
- Should be able to prepare checklist and guidelines.
- Should be able to take decision for insufficient data
Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills:
Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with 3-5 Yrs. of relevant Experience
CAD Skills:
- Basic drawing reading, knowledge of NX modeling & drafting
- Understand application of modeling & CAM template.
- Creation of CAM operations in UG manufacturing module.
- Convert old UG manufacturing file to GKAM.
- Basics of GKAM for all locations as per documentation.
- Understanding of Vericut .
SAP/PLM:
- Interpretation of MM production status
- Interpretation of MM routing
- Can make decision whether to change the NXC or not, when it is added to an ER.
Machining Knowledge:
- Able to check for manufacturing feasibility specific to plant.
- Able to understand the machining sequence.
- Application/Implication of cutting tools.
- Understanding of working tolerances and achieving the same.
- Interpretation / Application of Unit conversion.
- Basic knowledge of CNC operations and machine kinematics.
Engineering Knowledge:
- Should be able to calculate balancing by hand calculations.
- Should have basic knowledge about FEA/DFMEA
- Basic knowledge of heat treatment process.
Quality Management:
- Should be able to check the program against the input given.
- Should be able to check the program for manufacturing feasibility.
- Should be able to take decisions for insufficient data.
