Job Summary:

The candidate is expected to be part of design and engineering activities. It consists of conceptualization, detailing, revisions, cross-functional discussions, etc. Primarily, the customer (Internal and External) expectations need to be understood clearly and execute the design requirements quickly the right first time.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Possessing High-level of understanding of Metal Cutting with proper hands-on experience.
2. Design/ Engineering and development of cutting tools 3D Models. 2D Drawings, BoMs etc.
3. Understanding all the relevant standards/ practices and completion of design tasks.
4. Working with Plants/ Cross-functional teams for continuous development

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

Work Experience: 1 – 2 years

Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills: BE/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Allied courses OR 4 Years Diploma from GTTC/ NTTF/ CITD kind of Institutes.

Design engineer Job Description and skill requirements.

The job requirements (main tasks) –

• Design & drawing of machine assemblies like slides, spindles, fixtures, base, column, piping guarding, Toolings, etc.
• Design calculations.
• Part drawing detailing and part list preparation.
• Interacting with other functions like SCM, assembly, servicing, and application.
• Adherence to ISO processes.
• Working on PDM software & creation of design data.
• Technical discussion with the customer, vendors & other correspondence with them.

Qualification –

• Graduate / Postgraduate in mechanical engineering –
  • With specialization in machine design preferable.
  • IMTMA design course trainee is preferable.

Skills & competencies required. –

Should have good expertise in

• AutoCAD & Solid works.
• Basic engineering calculations for machine design.
• Knowledge of different metal cutting processes.
• Geometrical dimensioning and tolerances and preparation of manufacturing drawings of components.
• Knowledge of different materials.
• Knowledge of heat treatment processes.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, coolant & pneumatic circuits of machines.
• Have Good communication skills.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Design engineer.
