Hubbell India provides Engineering Services, Business Solutions and IT Services. Hubbell Engineering located in Ascendas, ITPL,Chennai, is engaged in the business of computer aided design and engineering services. The Hubbell Business Solutions functions at Infopark Kochi, provide superior business intelligence, knowledge services and business process solutions across Hubbell divisions and Corporate. IT Services team is spread across Chennai and Kochi.

Position Overview

We are looking for a self-driven individual, an innovative designer to collaborate in developing insightful industrial design solutions

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with major functions like Engineering & Product Management of Hubbell Group companies (Global Support) to explore and understand design requirements and constrains to create visually compelling and functional products per application requirements as well as meet design specifications
• Develop and iterate designs through sketches, prototypes, renderings and communicating with Hubbell business stakeholders
• Use CAD software to refine designs and create virtual models of products
• Work in close collaboration with other Mechanical / Electrical / Optical engineering resources within the team to translate product concepts and design intent into detailed 2D/3D CAD models suitable for hand off to production team
• Collaborate with various functions of the organization through the various phases of the development process, from conception to production including building Prototype samples, Testing
• Produce photo realistic renderings of CAD models to be used for marketing

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 – 10 yrs in creating functional, effective and aesthetically pleasing products through hand / sketching or digital sketching using relevant design software
• Experience in at least anyone of the sketching / styling software’s like Rhinoceros, Siemens NX, Solidworks (3D Sculptor), Autodesk Alias, Autodesk Sketchbook, Adobe Illustrator, etc…
• Rendering tools like Keyshot, Hypershot etc…
• Experience in Industrial product design and development
• Experience in designing LED Lighting Products / Lighting Controls & Sensors / Electrical & Electronics Products / Power & Utility Products will be an advantage
• Mathematical Skills, Reasoning Ability
• Must possess strong organizational skills and strong oral & written communication skills
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Industrial design (or)
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with experience in Industrial Design (or)
  Equivalent experience in Industry
