Job description
- Stress Analysis Engineer to perform structural analysis for aircraft engine components, assemblies and airframe structures. The candidate performs the finite element modeling and analysis of Propulsion Engines and Auxiliary Power Unit component/Assembly, free body diagrams to check load path of finite element model, verification of analysis results with closed form calculations, margin of safety calculations and documentation of analysis results. The candidate performs design optimization for weight in meeting the stress, deflection and vibration criteria.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 – 5 years of experience in finite element analysis
- Strong fundamentals in Solid Mechanics, Engineering Design and Materials, Finite Element Modeling theory
- Problem simplification and performing closed-form solution calculations of loads, deflection and stress
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment across sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in finite element modeling and analysis using ANSYS, NASTRAN
- Experience in finite element analysis of aircraft engines and airframe structures
