Responsibilities:

  • Work in a global team as an Individual contributor with significant responsibilities of Mechanical design. Perform mechanical design function on new product development teams defining customer requirements, develop and select best concepts, designs, and implementation into the production of new sensor solutions
  • Work effectively with internal and external teams on Customer Needs, Concept, and Design of mechanical designs
  • Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting. It is also expected that the candidate would develop technical expertise in the selected product lines and develop proposals/growth ideas & work for improving the product line.

EXPERIENCE: 3 –5 years of experience

Skill Requirement:

  • Good hands on experience with Mechanical packaging Design which would include Sheet Metal, , Machine component design, Plastics and Forming designs.
  • Experience on G D & T, Tolerance Stack up Analysis
  • Expertise in 3D Modeling and Parametric Detailing, Family Tables, Pro/E 2001, Pro/intralink, Auto CAD skill is an added advantage
  • Have understanding on Different Manufacturing Processes like Metal Parts Machining, Casting, sheet metal process, Plastic Injection Molding, Joining methodologies (crimpling, welding, brazing, soldering), potting
  • Have an understanding of NPI / Product Development Life Cycle and Product Design skills with hands on experience on DFMEA, QFD and other six sigma tools
  • Good knowledge about Material selection (Engineering Plastics, Metals) Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs by considering the Design for manufacturability and design for assembly, and DFx
  • Should have strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Should have good knowledge on Product Data management tools and should be familiar with ECR/ECN process

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as regulatory technical expert to support compliance of Fire & Security projects
  • Interpret regulatory standards and advise engineering teams so they meet product requirements
  • Clarify necessary document changes and guide technical publication team to mitigate concerns
  • Define product approval strategy in the areas of design, functionality and documentation
  • Prepare test plans, setup systems, coordinate testing and obtain approval results with agencies
  • Perform software & hardware testing to identify performance gaps & improvement opportunities
  • Analyze task risks, deadlines & priorities to help management derive realistic project schedules
  • Resolve ongoing compliance concerns with engineering, marketing & technical publication teams
  • Utilize quality control procedures and approval guides to perform responsible test executions
  • Direct group of global team members on test methodologies to comply with local requirements
  • Develop standard work, implement best practices and train engineering team members
  • Maintain product & equipment compliance to latest changes from UL/ULC & FM standards
  • Resolve manufacturing audit concerns by providing accurate & complete information
  • Utilize resources and optimize strategies for fastest way to execute projects
  • Identify test failure root causes and work with engineers on corrective action to resolve failures
  • Become an excellent liaison between agencies and Honeywell engineering & quality teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Excellent communication skills, effective verbal & written English proficiency
  • Basic MS office knowledge
  • Knowledge of the New Product Development process of electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical products

Additional Qualifications:

  • Engineering product development or design validation experience is a plus
  • Capability to analyze requirements & manage product compliance from application to approval
  • Strong problem-solving skills: prioritize, identify root causes & take corrective actions
  • Ability to use or learn and use lab equipment and relevant software. Examples include: using oscilloscope, developing loads, dielectric testers, transient machine, environmental & RFI/EMI chambers
  • Recognized proactive team fostering behavior & passion to get on time results
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineers and/or agency representatives
  • Proven experience to engage multidisciplinary teams to resolve problems
  • Established skills to organize logistical challenges, prioritize concerns & manage resolutions
