As a member of an R&D international team, develop traction transformer CAD templates ready to use for designers and drive them by software and user interface. Including PLM integration, testing, debugging, validation, implementation, and documentation (user manual, technical standards, and implementation).
Your responsibilities
- Provide support and advice to our engineer design team with a good technical level, work on a frequent basis on multi-site with international teams.
- Be the communication channel between engineering teams, R&D teams on GPG DT, and the design tool development teams (technical standard realization and software development).
- Develop distribution (Liquid filled and dry) transformers design rules and express them as software specifications. This includes testing, debugging, validation, implementation, and documentation (user manual, technical standards, and implementation).
- In a stimulating multi-cultural environment that encourages professional development, you will quickly assume part of the implementation of our distribution transformers design tool used globally
- Understand the landscape of software applications that need to interact with the Design Systems and have the capability to foster communication by developing software solutions.
- Manage different tasks in the design project to handle interactions with other tools involved in mechanical design – such as (but not limited to) simulation tools.
- Discuss with the local units Bug Reports and Change Requests. Then together with Global Engineering Manager decide on priorities and actions.
- Provide feedback and influence the global improvement projects with proposals of innovative solutions and ideas for design optimization and product development (with electrical, standardization content)
- Understand and analyze the technical constraints of the factories to follow the requirements of the technical standards, propose actions and adjust the technical standards if needed.
- Identify and select the most important /appropriate features that should build the common part of GPG DT mechanical design systems
- Technical design: finding the right balance between product group and local requirements
- Change management in a culturally diverse environment
- Promoters of new solutions with stress on the business results and on a global view.
- Deliver projects in time and within budget achieving the intended objectives
Your background
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering. or equivalent (Physics, etc.)
- 3-5 years of Distribution transformer design experience with profound knowledge of transformer
- physics is a strong plus (mechanical design of transformers is a strong plus)
- Solid knowledge in Engineering and Computer Modelling in CAD
- Either Solid knowledge of CDS electrical or demonstrated ability to learn the similar system
- Fluent with English and good communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages suitable to implement solutions for GPG DT is an asset
- Willingness to travel and the ability to interact with colleagues in all our PGUs is necessary, as the position is Global.
- Good team player, flexible, proactive, result-oriented, and working independently.
