Job description

  • Driving the safety and quality culture within (basic license to operate). Accountable to deliver improved results in plant environmental, health, and safety compliance.
  • Managing the teams of material planning, procurement, stores, maintenance, production, testing, and Industrial engineers (few roles could be reporting dotted line).
  • The role includes ownership of procurement performance through operational management as measured by customer responsiveness, delivery performance, capacity management, supplier management, and appropriate inventory management. Responsible to deliver or exceed budgeted KPIs for these parameters.
  • Proactive involvement with local/global teams to align manufacturing capabilities / new product ramp-up to drive growth.
  • Ensuring the Voice of the Customer is represented within the operations. Enabling and coaching all employees to evaluate risks, problems, and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view. Ensuring the speed of response and resolution of customer issues on the quality.
  • Responsible for the application of quality tools to validate that the product quality consistently meets the operational and customer expectations throughout their lifecycle.
  • Identifying and capturing COPQ (wastes) across the value chain with cross-functional ownership. Driving improvement actions to achieve cost savings targets.
  • Be a change agent and operations / lean champion to lead cross-functional efforts in problem-solving with proper use of root cause analysis tools and improvement methodologies.
  • Promoting a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, cost, customer service, quality, inventory, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Ownership of the living PFMEA practices at regular intervals.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Production, Manufacturing.
  • Should have 10-12 years’ working experience in Quality and production management in a multinational company having faced international customers.
  • Certified Black Belt from the recognized body like ASQ or similar, at least an active GB with project experience to demonstrate.
  • Experience in working in a Lean environment and familiar with the methodologies.
  • Possess good communication in English
