Job Summary

GKN Aerospace India Graduate Programme is a 15-month rotation program targeted on recruiting and developing Engineering graduates through phased learning and helping individuals to set their own goals and explore own interests within our business while being fully supported.

Phase-wise learning shall give you an opportunity to understand and develop both your technical and personal Skills. While on this program, you work on real-time projects, solving real-world problems and delivering real change. The program provides a development opportunity and mentoring to match your capabilities and aspirations to GKN’s strategic and operational needs – ensuring a thriving business for GKN and a fulfilling career for you at our offices. On-site rotation shall help you to visit our shop floors, gain an understanding of the products and our process helping you appreciate the work you do and deliver better products.

Job Responsibilities

As a young graduate at GKN, we want you to be interested in working with manufacturing engineering, technology and product development, purchasing, logistics, and quality functions, and have the goal to take on a leadership role in the future. You are accountable for your own personal and professional growth under the guidance of our senior teams. You will be building relationships within and outside GKN Aerospace and maintaining performance within your team and the wider company. There will also be self-development through training and other opportunities and the organisation will support you through mentoring alongside their placements.

Specific accountabilities will vary between job families, however, you will be responsible for supporting functional and operational teams and their projects, such as the implementation of Strategic Initiatives, Industry 4.0, or the Lean Operating Model.

As you develop confidence and competence on the program you can begin to take ownership for portions of larger projects under supervision from their line manager and/or placement manager.

The precise nature of each your role will be defined by the skills and competencies developed, interests, and the needs of the business.

Job Qualifications

Essential:
  • Post-graduation degree from a reputed university preferably with a Mechanical and Aerospace background
  • Excellent engineering fundamentals
  • Passion to drive their own career
  • Keen interest in the Aerospace industry
  • Enthusiasm for continuous personal development
  • Exhibits leadership potential
  • Good communication skills in English both oral and written
  • Right to work in a country that you have applied for
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in aerospace and/or manufacturing sector (e.g. through internships, placements, Experience before joining Masters if any)
  • Knowledge of FEA tools
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (MATLAB/Python/Shell/awk, etc.)
  • Knowledge in the area of data science & industrial automations
  • Knowledge in the areas of numerical methods, design simulation, additive manufacturing, design thinking etc.
  • ITAR/SSA clearance (where relevant)
  • Previous involvement with STEM, early careers events
  • Self-driven individual who can expand his/her skills with on-job training
