Knowledge

  • Working knowledge in Technomatic Process Simulate, Teamcenter, and MS Office applications
  • Working knowledge of GA Shop processes, Equipment & material handling systems.
  • Basic knowledge of PLM Structures, Methodology & interface with manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of the GVDP, GLP, Quality Chain, and DFMEA-PFMEA.
  • Good knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of OpEx tools, Six sigma, and Red X methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of GM-GMS Principles and Workplace safety systems.

Skills

  • Experienced in working with multiple interfaces to deliver results.
  • Basic Data analysis and research to implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Basic coding skills on process automation and business intelligence tools (C/C++, Java, VB script, Python, Power BI etc.,)

Abilities

  • Work with intercultural & multi-disciplinary teams to achieve enterprise goals.
  • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Good work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result.

Job description

Job Title:        Throughput Simulations Engineer

Department:     Manufacturing  Engineering Integration : GMTCI

General Purpose of Position:

  • Execute Throughput Simulation Study Analyses and provide solutions to reduce cost and complexity for product programs in Global regions.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Create Discrete Event Simulation Models for Automotive Plants.
  • Conceptualize, Build , simulate, and optimize the process models using Plant Simulation and C-Draw simulation Software.
  • Understand process flows , analyze data, and effectively represent in simulation model to achieve better interrelationship and process improvement.
  • Lead and coordinate simulation and Planning efforts between teams to develop optimal solutions for the designed concept or current process
  • Bottleneck Analysis, Throughput Analysis, Logistics Optimization, Data Analysis, Cost benefit Analysis & Optimize Resource Utilization
  • Provide results to leadership and coordination between internal departments and Plants for multiple sites.
  • Develop design solutions to provide best process flow to improve the throughput of the facilities
  • Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedure.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Knowledge about functionality of Throughput Simulation Softwares (Plant Simulation, CDRAW, FactoryCAD/FLOW, FlowPlanner, ).  AutoCAD, MS Visio,
  • Ability to code logic of simulation model,
  • Experience in Automotive Shop floor experience will be preferred.
  • Knowledge about throughput behaviors and production systems.
  • Experience in Discrete Event Simulation
  • Knowledge about Lean Manufacturing Strategy like theory of constraints.
  • Ability to address unusual and/or difficult problems with analytical ability and problem solving techniques
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, layout design and Material flow and layouts
  • Knowledge about vehicle assembly manufacturing process and documentation
  • Required flexibility to work on different IE function as per the business requirements (Ergonomics, Layout, Manufacturing Process Documentation) or for work rebalancing
  • Should be able to Coordinate with Multi-cultural teams.
  • Excellent research-ability of multiple information and data sources
  • Excellent Communication (verbal & written) and meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes, different roles, or environments
  • Required flexibility in working hours due to global business requirements
  • Willing to Travel
  • Extended hours required as part of job requirements

Experience:

  • 2-5 Years of Experience in Throughput Simulation Analysis for Automotive Plant
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Engineering including Global Manufacturing Systems, Bill Of Process (BoP), Bill of Equipments (BoE),  Vehicle assembly process in automotive plant (Body / Paint / GA)
  • Knowledge of office tools, power BI, VBA Macro

Education:

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Automobile).
