Job description
- The Quality Junior Engineer will be responsible for Quality Planning, purchase of equipment, Quality tool selections.
- Responsibility includes the development and qualification of various NPI products, Quality procedures development, NDT process certification, NDT parameter development/certification, and implementation of product quality operations.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Shall have expertise in the preparation of QAP/ITP/, equipment/utility specifications & Budget forecasting for the same.
- Work closely with the engineering/Quality team and sharing knowledge transfer for product qualification, process setup, tools selection, installation & commissioning, and setting it up for serial production quality checks.
- Shall develop/ maintain quality plans, operating standards, and create process routings and manage regular process audits and process capability studies.
- Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and give decision for acceptance or rejection.
- In-process inspection of Bogie Frame – NDT Inspection of the fabricated frame as per specification, and customer requirements.
- Carrying out NDT inspection and recording the results as per the spec for future refence and capturing the Quality KPI’s.
- Review and analyzing the Quality outcomes of the welded parts as per the approved NDT procedures, plans, specifications along manufacturing engineer and to incorporate the requirements into the manufacturing drawings or procedures.
- Maintain notes, drawings, and other documentation (like Test results, calibration certificates, list of instruments, Manufacturing Instruction) for future reference and proper maintenance.
- Work closely with the cross-functional team for supporting the welder qualification process to ensure that all the manufacturing requirements are fulfilled.
- Identify the root cause of repetitive non-conforming defects and support to fix the process to improve the Quality of the welding.
- Pre-Dispatch Inspection activities – Ensure inspection of all Lots before Dispatch. To ensure the quality of Inspection. To ensure control of NC Products. To ensure identification/implementation of countermeasure action for any defecting line Quality problems.
- Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as a leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, radiographic, thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, and visual testing.
- To support the Calibration activity of all Measuring and testing instruments at in-house and sub-contracting.
- Actively involved in Implementing daily work management and PDCA (Plan Do Check Act).
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed college /university
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance of Structural Fabrication & Assembly.
