He/She is responsible for engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Accountable for the quality of my own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step-by-step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Process Engineering activities and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Good knowledge of Cycle Time study, Motion study, Method study, process mapping, etc.
  • Establish and monitor Time standards.
  • Hands-on experience in shop floor practice eg. Implementation of lean manufacturing concept, line balancing, layout change, bottleneck analysis, continuous improvement, throughput time & cost reduction projects, etc.
  • Sound knowledge of advanced Manufacturing processes, particularly assembly using power tools. Knowledge of the special process of induction heating & assembly process is mandatory.
  • Monitoring capacity utilization, and preparing MIS on the process.
  • Good Knowledge of GD&T, and basic principles of design.
  • Conduct technical feasibility study, BOM, and routing preparation.
  • Preparation of process documentation of SOPs, work instructions, Control plan, PFMEA, etc.
  • Understanding DFA, Low-cost automation, and Initiatives to improve PQCDSM.
  • To estimate labor cost & capital investment for NPI.
  • Standardization of process as per global standards.
  • Ensure all engineering designs, specifications & technical data are complete& accurately documented
  • Translate engineering BoM into manufacturing BoM including item master creation, defining routing in Oracle
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
  • Around 4 to 7 years of Experience in a Manufacturing company, preferably in shop floor management. Manufacturing
  • Engineering knowledge will be an added advantage

  • Develop coaching skills to guide HPTs & support model line implementation
  • Ability to travel to the technical center, and suppliers if needed.
