Position – Production Manager

Job description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the module, working in three shifts.
- A leader provides support to his team by training/coaching.
- Responsible to assess and develop competencies and performances of his own direct reports using a structured process taking into account cascading objectives.
- Responsible for achievement of the target of the key performance indicators (OEE, Productivity, Quality, Delivery, Safety, WIP) in his own area.
- Support and participate in NPI activities in his area
- Responsible for the application of all the safety and environmental rules in his own area
- Works with the customer quality engineers to address all respective customer requirements
- Assure the continuous improvement in his area by using Kaizen methodology, RCA, and Gemba approach.
- Manages RCA process for his own area, supported by the respective functions & participates in PFMEA updates
- Responsible to execute risk assessment and define actions
- Drive the Escalation Process and quick problem resolution
- Responsible for the deployment of stability tools (SMED, TPM, 5’S, OEE, etc…)
- Responsible for recognition of good work of employees by proper nominations for R & R
- Drive accountability meetings for his module, Attends tier 3, coach tier 1 & 2
- Responsible for positive employee relations on the shop floor.
- Responsible for Statutory & legal compliance on the shop floor.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Good Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Production Organization, Layout, Stability Tools, Pull System, Quick Response – Lean Expert Certified (Preferred).
- Core Green Belt Certified (Preferred)
- Good man-management skills, people-friendly
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing people
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Self-learner and driver cross-functionally.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to gain cooperation & commitment from peers, superiors, and reporters
- The global mindset should always focus on final customer requirements
- Good knowledge of HS & E, QMS system requirements
Experience and Education Required:
- Engineering Graduate – BE/B Tech, Mechanical / Production engineering is a must.
- 6 to 8 years of previous experience in manufacturing in a similar role having automotive, mass production background
- Experience in handling shopfloor associates and leading sub-production teams independently.
- Experience of working in Cross-Functional team and influencing teams
