Job description

• Min 3~5 Years of technical experience in Interior or Exterior Trims – Bill of Materials, Design, Development & Launch
• Exposure to Automotive manufacturing & assembly process 
• Exposure to TCE and Vis mockup
• Exposure to the Global Product Development System or system design engineering principles
• This position opened for SG5 and SG6 as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creating and managing the Bill of Materials: responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining the BOM for products or projects. To ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper organization of the BOM.
• Reviewing and verifying engineering documentation: Review engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy. Responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• BOM engineers manage the configuration control process for products, ensuring that only approved changes are made to the BOM and documentation. He tracks and documents revisions manages revisions, and controls version control.
• Continually analyze and optimize the BOM structure and composition to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. He may propose alternative components or design changes to achieve these objectives.
• BOM engineers maintain accurate records and documentation of BOMs, changes, and associated information. He generates reports, metrics, and analysis related to BOM activities and participates in reviews or audits as required (ISO).
• Focus on helping the design engineers in their VHE (the BOM expert in their VHE). First point of contact for all BOM-related queries.
• Component loading to support CAD-to-BOM alignment.
• Consumes the BOM Health Reports (and/or PPR working file) to check what needs to be fixed. I can fix some attributes (core engineering knowledge is not required) but will need to follow up with the design engineer for other issues.
• It helps solve digital vehicle quality issues, e.g., why is my part not appearing in the CM (is it a BOM, CDV, or CM issue?)
• Support design engineers with CMF queries. Escalate to a CMF specialist if it can’t be resolved.
• Helps roll out new BOM concepts (supported by BOM SME) to their VHE.
• Provides training and T&T to the design engineers in their VHE.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Bachelor level Degree of Mechanical / Automobile engg. or equivalent
