Job description

• Good experience in Automotive Braking Systems
• Should be proficient in HEX modeling of Disc & Drum brake assemblies
• Should be able to identify the root cause of undesired vibrations at the brake system (Brake Squeal, Brake Groan/Moan)
• Should be able to predict/understand loads and boundary conditions for failure analysis
• Development of appropriate countermeasures and judgment on the feasibility of these countermeasures
• Should have experience in Brake Judder, Stiffness, and Strength Calculations
• Hands-on experience in Hypermesh, Nastran & ABAQUS and ability to debug analysis decks independently
• Experience in physical testing will preferred as an additional qualification
• Hands-on in Python/TCL/TK scripting will be considered as an advantage

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect the CAE requirements from Global customers and prepare the FEA models.
• Conduct and analyze brake squeal for both disc and drum brakes for the Global Program DV support
• Establish a correlation between brake noise observed during vehicle operation and dyno testing, and offer cost-effective and timely solutions
• Determining the fundamental cause of undesirable brake system vibrations, including brake squeal, brake groan/moan
• Create effective solutions and assess their feasibility for implementation.
• Proficiency in calculating brake judder, stiffness, and strength.
• Manage the project delivery and effective communication with Customers as an individual contributor.
• Practical knowledge in collaborating with a physical testing team would be advantageous.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational qualification – BE/B Tech/ME/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
No. of years of CAE experience – 5 plus Years
Other requirements – Good verbal and written skills / PC skills –MS word, PowerPoint, excel.
