Position – Senior Industrial Development Engineer

Job description

The position is based on Manufacturing services of Back-office offshoring platform for global industrial support within FIS BG.

Reports To: Manager – Central Industrial Development.

Essential responsibilities and duties:

The mission is:

  • to define and set-up production systems & internal logistics.
  • the definition and installation of the Industrial investment required by the program, based on equipment workload calculation and possible sub-contracting, all that rigorously respecting the Industrial timing plan.
  • mission starts from Acquisition Phase until the SOP (Start of Production) depending upon Program request for support.

The main responsibilities are:

Within Acquisition:

  • Coordinate with Global team for acquisition programs.
  • Prepare AME files: which includes Process flow charts, Capacity calculation, MIFD, Work Content calculation, Surface estimation, Tools & Equipment List, Capex estimation, MOD calculation for acquisition programs
  • Create and introduce procedures regarding the tasks of his field of responsibility
  • Participate to Make Vs Buy studies.
  • Estimate internal packaging and logistics for acquisition programs.

Within Program

  • Ensure the achievement of Process, Equipment and Facility FMEA.
  • Manage the Production Part Approval Process (including Mass Production Trial and Extended Mass Production Trial).
  • Manage the program launch & provide the Support during Production Trials.
  • Prepare detailed plant lay-out in AutoCAD, MIFD and update whenever requirement.
  • Launch management and launch cost management
  • Be an interface between Program Core Team and the Plants.

Industrial Engineering:

  • Ensure Implementation of all relevant FES principles and FIS technical standards in Plant.
  • Build up the final industrial footprint in line with Industrial Strategy.
  • Follow the 10 Lean design guidelines by conducting Lean Line design Workshop to ensure product & process optimization and continuously look out for solutions which could improve program industrial and Economic performance

Knowledge required:

  • Processes like Injection molding/IMG Thermoform/Covering/Foaming/Airbag weakening
  • Assembly line set up/automation
  • Plastic joining processes like Vibration /US welding process/Hot plate
  • Packaging development for automotive parts.
  • Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • Professional Degree – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical /Industrial / Production / Plastics)

Experience:

  • 3 to 7 years of professional experience in Manufacturing / Process Engineering.
  • Automotive industry- (preferably TIER-I plastic interiors) will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for short / long term assignments (International).
  • Ability to work in Global environment.

Skills and competencies:

  • Drive for results, communicate & coordinate across different teams.
  • Excellent Presentation and communication skills – English (And Foreign Language would be an added advantage)
  • Leadership skills are essential to Lead the program activities.
  • Basic knowledge about Finance will be added advantage.
