The engineering function supports Vestas worldwide strategy via process optimization, production support, test validation, cost control, and E2E project management. It has competence in technical documentation, process and layout design, tooling design, PDM testing automation, and NDT. To realise the mission of Vestas, we implement innovative solutions and encourage a culture of continuous development. This position is a part of the Manufacturing Design and EAM team, which develops and revises process designs using storyboards, process work instructions, and concepts for Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Responsibilities
- launch of a new product or production line (NPI)
- Creating storyboards for assembly processes using the manufacturing idea
- Providing input for the production of work instructions and line layouts through the detailed design of an assembly idea
- Storyboard preparation using a project- or configuration-based method
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings and other production material will help you develop new PWIs that will work with NPI teams.
- Develop work instructions and assist the team creating them with the design of the assembly process.
- Weekly task completion status should be reported to the global PE function.
Qualifications
- engineering degree (Mechanical)
- 4 years or more of experience in product or process engineering
- having a strong understanding of MS Office 365 programs for reporting daily progress
Competencies
- knowledge of the PLM idea and system (Windchill)
- exposure to 3D modeling applications like CREO and Solidworks
- Design for Manufacturing and the MPM connection are additional benefits.
- NPI/NPD of WTG assembly and production of heavy equipment
- exposure to project management
- Exposure to either the assembly line industry OR the manufacture of wind turbine parts (Blade, Nacelles, Towers, Controls) is advantageous.
