  • Crouse & B-Line has an opening for Senior Engineer position – Power Distribution & control and Wire Management products
  • Primary responsibility of this role is lead/ drive design, development and testing of products used for applications in electrical domain that will penetrate the national and international markets.
  • He/she should possess strong technical and analytical skills to take engineering decisions based on calculations, simulations, testing and other engineering methods as applicable to the project.
  • He/she will be directly responsible for mechanical design of Power distribution & contol or Wire Management products.
  • He/she will be responsible for driving a culture of innovation, learning & continuous improvement while leading the projects which include NPI and VAVE.
  • This position responsibilities also entails the identification of product adjacencies and identification and execution of cost saving initiatives through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE)..
  • Work in multiple programs/projects related to new product development (NPD) & Value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives.
  • Own end to end mechanical product design and development including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of products.
  • Develop and understand product requirements, perform conceptual design and complete system/component modelling.
  • Work in a cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions required for project execution.
  • Designs, validates and releases system, sub-system and components independently as well as through team of engineers. Creates CAD drawings- detailing, 3D models, Assemblies etc. and ensure release in PLM / ERP system per project plan.
  • Develop test plans in accordance with IEC/UL standards. Create test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices. Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions.
  • Review reliability predictions, and Design Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA) and structural/thermal/CFD results. Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.
  • Create Intellectual Property documents (IPs) around new product design concepts / ideas and drive innovation from ideation to execution.
  • Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications.
  • Understands project management process and tools required for planning, efforts estimation and other quality management processes as required for achieving the project deliverables.

Qualifications

Requirement –

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s in Mechanical engineering.
  • with 4-6 years of experience in design & development of Power and Distribution Control products or Wiring management products or Cable glands products or equivalent electromechanical product lines.
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in design and development of Power Distribution control products like Enclosures (Explosion proof), Panel boards, Motor control, Plugs and receptacles, Wiring management products, Cable gland products, cast/machined products, plastic products as per relevant product standards such as UL, IEC, etc.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches realized cost out and intellectual property generation.
  • Experience must include hands on experience with design of products from concept to commercialization including and not limited to part detailing and designing, component and material selection, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts, prototyping and validation
  • Analytical skills must include understanding component design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits and establishing efficient/ergonomic methods of assembly, design calculations.
  • Should be proficient with GD&T, Six Sigma, DFMEA, DFMA, UL certification, VAVE understanding, should costing, OnePart, Total cost Optimization, and Agile ProLaunch
  • Should have sound knowledge on different product design tools environment like CAD, Solid works, SAP and FEA tools as required for product design and development.
