  • The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop Aerospace related Joints Products to meet customer-specific technical, cost, and market-related technology requirements including safety, reliability, and conformance to standards.
  • As an Engineer, the incumbent would be working on product or technology groups with design, development, testing, or sustaining engineering responsibilities.
  • The Engineer has to study, design, make changes to existing designs as per needs, accumulate product/technology knowledge and assess systemic improvements & sustenance. Plan their activities to achieve project timelines and deliverables.
  • The Engineer would be working on Aerospace products such as Pneumatic & Fuel Joints at Eaton India Innovation Center.
  • Responsible for the mechanical design of Joints products within the Aerospace Engine solution and Electrification team.
  • Performs Project Engineer role, Capturing customer’s voice, Understanding and Executing milestones, Conducting technical and project Reviews
  • Performs complex engineering assignments, involving product design, testing, and compliance to specifications, process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Creation of Aerospace Product Testing/Qualification documentation as per Aerospace Industry standards DO-160 such as QP, QTP, QSR, QTR, ATP
  • Creation of 3D models, drawings, reports, CRs/COs and BOMs, Tooling designs, Test fixture designs, Test plans, and Test reports for new product designs and modification of existing drawings and models. Coordinate design reviews through the release process
  • Execute proto-type build, performance/durability testing, and teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch
  • Utilize DFSS concepts/tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements
  • Sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group
  • Drives PRO-Launch execution for NPI programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan, and attaining all engineering deliverables per activity matrix
  • Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & acts as a technical resource for internal/external customers and resolves technical challenges
  • Maintain credible communication practice with stakeholders on technical clarifications, testing & resolving field failures
  • Learning agility to understand & assimilate varied technologies & product knowledge

Qualifications

Requirement –
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years or ME/ M.Tech in Mechanical or related engineering area with 1+ years of engineering/product design experience in the Joints/relevant domain.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design principles
  • Strong product design ability (Both new product & product modification).
  • Ability to read and understand Drawings, Specifications, and Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics
  • Experience in Aerospace Testing/Qualification documentation like QP, QTP, QSR, ATP
  • Having a fair understanding of the material science of components used in mechanical design (metals, insulators, plastics, etc.)
  • Ability to make recommendations on product designs, and strongly influence product costs
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and presentations for internal and external customers, including design reviews, non-advocate reviews, and technical coordination meetings.
  • Proficiency in one or more CAD tools; Preferably CATIA and experience with PLM tool
  • Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of allocation GD&T, component & assembly Tolerancing, Welding, and creation of manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience in projects involving a significant amount of CAD, FEA
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work across site boundaries in a global virtual engineering organization.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with functions and organizations outside of Engineering.
  • Awareness of DFSS tools like FMEA.FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis etc.
  • Design for manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA)
