Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to design and execute Cost out projects related to “Clutch components and subsystems” to meet customer-specific technical requirements by satisfying cost and timeline requirements for Commercial vehicle applications. The Applicant must have hands-on Experience with Pro-e to release Clutch quality drawings across various regions. The applicant shall have experience in the design, development, and validation of Clutch components and sub-systems. The applicant shall have exposure to performing analytical design calculations, Pro-E, GD&T, basics of tolerance stack-up analysis, and manufacturing methods involving casting and forging. The candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills. Preferred to have cross-functional team working experience (namely engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing, and supply chain).
Job Responsibilities
- Performs simple engineering assignments, involving product design, testing and process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Participates in engineering/design activities and maintains effective communications with team members. Creates, and sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents, and data control for the associated business group.
- Design concepts by applying Value Engineering principals to products. Participates and leads in ideation events on product portfolios using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Utilizes the understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs
- Achieve engineering milestones per the timelines defined in Engineering Management Plan for VAVE projects.
- Maintain a respectable turn-around time with respect to assignments
- OTD and quality performance of Quality Drawings released
- EIIC growth goals and Vehicle Group business growth goals aligned with Clutch Cost out goals.
Qualifications
Education level required:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Preferred education level:
- Minimum 1-3/0-2 years of experience in Driveline background.
Technical knowledge/Soft Skills:
- Automotive background from a leading technical engineering organization.
Soft skills:
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
