Job description
What you’ll do:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the overall development of CAD Automation solutions for numerous digital design applications. The CAD Automation Engineer will be part of a global Digital design team enabling automation across different CAD platforms (primarity within AutoCAD and Creo) using native languages such as C#, VBA or Python.
- Must have good proficiency in CAD development with Creo and AutoCAD
- Must have working experience with Automation in PTC Creo using JLink or dedicated automation environments
- Must have working experience with AutoCAD automation for drawing generation
- Basic knowledge of custom scripts development enabling CAD automation with respective native languages such as VBA, VB and C#
- Familiarity with assembly scale design parametrization would be preferred
- Preferred to have knowledge in Inventor Automation & its application programming Interface (API)
- Creation of detailed parametric assemblies in Creo and SolidWorks.
- Participates in internal open innovation events with businesses & other research groups
- Gets trained on internal systems & processes and implements them towards projects
- Explore advances in digital design technologies pertaining to CAD Automation and evaluate their suitability for Eaton products.
- Works collaboratively with the digital design team globally to advance the technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Mechanical preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant industrial experience working with required CAD tools (Creo, AutoCAD) and their automation/integration APIs
Skills:
The engineer should be –
- conversant with hands-on projects automating CAD tools – Creo, AutoCAD
- Sounds knowledgeable with proficiency in C#, VBA, Python, and JavaScript
- Should have worked with Full-stack development and maintenance for CAD Automation tools.
- Ability to work in and with diverse & multi-cultural and geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (Development Teams, product management, project management)
- Ability to present to various levels of engineering and business leadership globally.
