Role Overview
The Associate Engineer will support Aerospace Hydraulics product design, development, and sustainment projects. Responsibilities include new product development (NPD) and meeting internal customer requirements while managing the product lifecycle for hydraulic systems. Candidates should be familiar with mechanical, hydro-mechanical, and electro-mechanical product design, specifically for hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves.
Key Responsibilities
- New Product Development
- Execute and support NPD through Eaton PROLaunch, PreLaunch, and ACES processes.
- Develop product concepts, architectures, and engineering calculations.
- Design Engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, CREO, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and drafting.
- Utilize GD&T, Limits, Fits & Tolerancing for design accuracy.
- Leverage analytical tools (MathCAD, Matlab/Simulink, CfX, ADL).
- Engineering Processes
- Apply methodologies such as DFSS, Lean, DMAIC, DFM/DFA, and robust design for decision-making.
- Support the RFI/RFP/RFQ process with required technical artifacts.
- Testing and Qualification
- Prepare designs for product testing and qualification to ensure compliance.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Provide project updates and technical presentations to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication with global teams and internal customers.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Hydro-Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience: 0-2 years in design and development of hydraulic, hydro-mechanical, or electro-mechanical products.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of Aerospace products and Engineering fundamentals in hydraulics.
- Experience in CAD tools and Analytical software.
- Understanding of Six Sigma (DFSS) and Lean methodologies.
- Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
